Why do bad things happen to good people?
You try to do the right thing. You help others. You pray. Yet sometimes, life still brings pain, failure and difficult situations.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna teaches Arjuna about karma, duty and detachment from the results of our actions.
Bhagavad Gita 2.47 reminds us:
“Karmanye vadhikaraste
Ma phaleshu kadachana…”
Your responsibility is to focus on your actions, not become consumed by the results.
This doesn’t mean ignoring suffering or saying that every painful event is simply “karma.” The Gita offers a deeper perspective: when life becomes difficult, focus on what is within your control and continue to act with wisdom and integrity.
Maybe the question isn’t:
“Why did this happen to me?”
Maybe it’s:
“What will I do with what life has given me?”
